Valuations are usually done for various purposes such as
for sale, purchase, financing, land acquisition, accounting,
corporate management, submission to authorities such as
Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional, the Securities Commission,
the Foreign Investment Committee for approval (for public
listing, acquisitions and mergers or revaluations) or for
any other purpose that a member of the public may require
a valuation.
Such valuations are carried out by firstly identifying the
interest in the property to be valued and then applying
the appropriate basis of valuation. Valuations are conducted
by detailed reports in accordance with the requirements
of the Malaysian Valuation Standards of the Board of Valuers,
Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia.
Types of properties vary from property interests in simple
residential properties to property interests in commercial
complexes, industrial and agricultural properties as well
as specialised properties such as timber concessions, quarries,
plant and machinery or any other identifiable interest in
property.
